Summer Programs at RGS

The Rio Grande School Summer Solution
Our "Summer Solution" is a half-day summer program open to all children, whether or not they are enrolled at RGS, who are entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Children enroll in one-week sessions, each of which embodies a different theme. In the summer of 2009, our themes include:

"Safari Africa": June 15-June 19  

"Gooey, Sticky, Yummy": June 22-June 26 

"Sensational Santa Fe!": June 29-July 2 

"Summer Olympics": July 6-July 10 

"July Jamboree": July 13-July 17

Adventures in Art

An exciting half-day program in visual arts exploration offered to ages 5-12.  This program is designed to inspire and nurture creativity and artistic confidence in children.  Participants are introduced to a wide variety of materials, techniques, and popular artists.  Activities include watercolor, acrylic painting, drawing with pencil and pastel, multi-media, collage, and wood sculpture.  Children are encouraged to express themselves freely and to develop individual interests.
