Kelly Horn Appointed New Head

Rio Grande School is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly R. Horn as its next Head of School. Mr. Horn arrives at Rio Grande School with fifteen years of experience as a teacher and administrator in independent schools. He is currently in his eighth year as the Headmaster at the Rohan Woods School in St. Louis, MO, where his accomplishments include increasing diversity, achieving 100% participation in the Annual Fund, and creating an early childhood program. Prior to Rohan Woods, Mr. Horn was the Upper School Director for four years at the Rossman School in St. Louis, MO, where he directed all facets of the Grades 3-6 program, and a Foreign Language Instructor there for three years. A native Missourian, Mr. Horn was born and raised in the St. Louis area. He earned Bachelors of Arts in French and Economics from Truman State University in 1994 and a Master of Arts in Education from the same institution in 1996. He loves outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, skiing, and boating, all things sports, home improvement projects, and road trips! We are looking forward to welcoming Kelly, his wife Patty, and their two sons, ten-year old Jack and eight-year old John, on July 1, 2011.
