Catherine Kaiser

Ms. Katy brings 31 years of early childhood classroom experience to her role as Associate Teacher in the first-grade classroom alongside Ms. Green. She has a strong background in traditional Early Childhood Development and is AMI-certified through Montessori Northwest in Portland, Oregon. Her extensive training and experience provide a rich foundation for supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every child in her care. This will be Katy’s 15th year teaching at Rio Grande School.

Although Ms. Katy has spent the past 30 years teaching early childhood education, she is excited to continue her work with slightly older children and to support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and joyful classroom environment. She values building strong relationships with children and helping each student develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Outside the classroom, Katy enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. She especially loves mountain biking, hiking, yoga, dancing, and camping.
