Laura Kaye Jagles joined RGS in 2012. She received her BA in English from Allegheny College, Meadville, PA and her MA and MLitt from Middlebury College Bread Loaf School of English, VT. Before teaching Tewa, Laura taught twelve years of middle and high school English at the Native American Preparatory School and the Santa Fe Preparatory School, where she also served as the Director of Multicultural Life. She now teaches Tewa to K-12 students who are enrolled members of the six Tewa-speaking tribes north of Santa Fe. Laura is from Tesuque Pueblo and serves the Pueblo of Pojoaque whose members attend five Santa Fe schools besides RGS. On a national level, Laura served on NAIS’ Call-To-Action, a group of diversity practitioners who assisted NAIS with social justice and equity issues. Currently, Laura is a Student Diversity Leadership Conference Faculty who facilitates the SDLC portion of NAIS’ People of Color Conference. She enjoys spending time with her family along with her many nieces and nephews. Laura loves reading, writing, laughing, and simply being creative.
