we really Embrace social emotional learning which at its core is you can you can't separate social emotional learning from the academic they are integrated whether you want the we are not the social emotional learning is something that happens in every classroom not just the classroom that we might consider their main classroom in my classroom for example the kids enter we do with social emotional check in and we do that through Performing Arts so they have a name card and they put it in the next to a picture that shows how they're feeling that day and they met how to express that with it acting pose or even are improvisation to let me know and let the other kids know something about the way they're feeling that day and that's just a great skill to try and develop so that when they become an adult maybe they'll be better able to identify and name the emotions that they're feeling and I think that happens in in many of the classrooms not just you know mine something else that's really important to our social emotional being a trail Grand is practicing what we call mindful moments in class so we often in the afternoons will deposit the day and will take out my phone notebook stand will reflect on different prompts to draw our attention to where we are right now what we're feeling what happened to us in our day often will do gratitude Reflections in that regard to we're always dedicated to supporting their learning for who they are as Learners we always see them as who they are as people do and when you work with young kids can you got to do that first before the lightning can come
