interdisciplinary learning is the foundation of this school 45 years ago that the founders had this vision of a school where whether you are in Spanish after art class warrior in your classroom class and you're studying birds or whales or bone that you're learning about this from every different perspective children who learned in many different ways and you're never quite which type of learning is going to make that subject area stick maybe for one child it's going to be reading a book about a subject but baby for another it's going me singing a song that includes that information in it or maybe for third it's going to be acting out that concept we have access to collaborating with our co-curricular educators who are our art teacher our Spanish teacher are performing arts teacher adventure and were able to draw on those strengths of those co-curricular classes and their expertise and bring them in the classroom as well the second grade classroom was learning about him you shouldn't drink soda t-shirt asked me to plan a mini Olympic unit and for me to share that experience with second grader what's the weather at mazing engagement for the students so they gain knowledge about whatever that's them out at unit is from so many different perspectives which just makes it more interesting for the kids
